Description

Acama Villas is an existing wood-frame apartment building in North Hollywood. The cement plaster-clad building has had multiple water intrusion issues on one of the elevations due to lack of detailing during original construction. Previous repairs have been attempted, however they have been unsuccessful leaving some homeowners with continued water damage during rain events.

Scope of Work

FEC partnered with a structural engineer to investigate the extent of the water intrusion and any underlying damages. FEC designed repair procedures which match the existing appearance but mitigated the risk of water intrusion, including product recommendations, installation processes, and drafted details. FEC was on site to review the repairs as performed by the contractors for conformance with the designed repair procedures and for QA/QC purposes.
